Yesterday’s Zenvolution was concluded in true Asus fashion. Its scale is a one up from the launch of the Zenfone 2 a year earlier with the day’s event held at the Grand Tent at Sofitel Philippine Plaza.
Asus’ 2016 lineup of Zenfone 3s were introduced one after another, this time choosing to start with the premium pieces first working their way down. In terms of the pricing model that Asus is going with it goes this way:
Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition (6GB/256GB) Php 44,995 – S821 2.4GHz Processor
Zenfone 3 Deluxe (6GB/64GB) Php 34,995 – S820 2.15GHz Processor
Zenfone 3 Ultra (4GB/64GB) Php 32,995 – 23MP Sony IMX318 / DTS Headphone : X / ZenEar S / 4600mAh Battery
Zenfone 3 5.5″ (4GB/64GB) Php 18,995 – 16MP Sony IMX298 / TriTechAF / 4-Axis OIS / 3-Axis EIS / 14nm S625 2.0GHz Processor
Zenfone 3 5.2″ (4GB/64GB) Php 16,995
Zenfone 3 5.5″ Laser (4GB/32GB) Php 11,995 – 13MP Sony Sensor / 3-Axis EIS
Zenfone 3 Max (3GB/32GB) Php 8,995 – 4100mAh Battery
The easiest way to understand the many models is by looking at the median which is the larger Zenfone 3 4GB/64GB variant – going up leads to better spec and going down sheds off some of it… and as far as the price of Zenfone goes, I do believe it maintains its affinity with the market… somewhat.
Three ambassadors were introduced in the form of Jason Magbanua for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Alodia Gosiengfiao for the Zenfone 3, and Gab Valenciano for the Zenfone 3 Ultra.
Along with the Zenfone line, several notebooks came into light in the form of the Asus Transformer 3, the Asus Transformer 3 Pro, and the indomitable Asus Zenbook 3.
The Asus Transformer 3 is a 12.6″ slate that is a mere 6.9mm thin without the keyboard sleeve, comes with the latest Intel Core M processor, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and an Asus Pen for Php 49,995.
The Asus Transformer 3 Pro is also 12.6″ with an 8.35mm profile, has a magnetic keyboard cover, carries a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-6200U, with 8GB RAM, 512 SSD, the same Asus Pen, and an integrated kickstand at the back which can prop the device up from anywhere within its 170 degree range for Php 69,995.
The Zenbook 3 defines the perfect notebook at 11.9mm on its thickest, running the latest Intel Core i7 with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD with a sinular USB Type-C port at Php 79,995.
Base Zenfone 3 variants should be readily available at your favorite retailer now with the exception of the upper tiers in the form of the Ultra, Deluxe, and Deluxe Special Edition which should be coming in September. Zenfone 3 Max a week from now and the Laser a week after that. All the notebooks will be available at Q4 in time for the holidays (Oct-Dec)
