Now that the newest Microsoft OS has been released officially, its presence is quickly creeping up on stores more especially on Windows 7 laptops with upgrade options for a few more hundred pesos.
This revolution takes with it phones, tablets, hybrids, AiOs, and desktops; this upcoming mid to late Q4 will definitely see more of this first generation tablets coming in. It is a chance for early adopters to showcase new touchscreen devices to their peers should they choose to purchase one, of course there will be people waiting for the 2nd generation immediately while some choose to stick with the precursor simply because they are thinking that the update is only superficial.
As long as the original desktop option is present, people will definitely feel that the difference comes only from the tiles / live tiles on the new homescreen; deep web integration is being undermined right now and will only be apparent when the tablet devices find their home in the hands of Android and iOS users.
How big the piece of the consumer pie the RT version will take remains to be witnessed.
