Photo Kiosk Printer of Choice – Kodak 605

image

During picture perfect moments all over the island/s of Palawan, they have these kiosks where photographers of theirs shoot at you and the data is almost instantaneously loaded into their database and shown to you for selection and printing with a frame and sometimes background even (when shot on a greenwall). The swiftness of their operation is the key for generation of cash flow, even if almost all the tourists carry with them DSLR’s, mirrorless, or high end compacts, some still opt for immediate gratification of up to 6×8 inches.

It works with its own xpressphoto program which applies framing, shadow clearing, and brightening so quickly that when you get involved in a conversation with an operator, theyre almost sure to sell you at least one.

This quick turnaround is something only high capital photo booth services offer using Kata printers but that is much smaller and with its own set of consumables. Kodak looks to be the more established name though but who knows where to get this model and how much is needed just to acquire and operate one.
