The inevitable has come to pass, in an unassuming visit to the SM North Edsa Annex there was, at the Atrium, Pokemon Holidays at SM – it is here that Magnus graduated from Pokemon TCG Pocket into the actual, physical, Pokemon TCG!
As part of this “caravan” which would last until the first weekend of 2026 (Dec 12-Jan 4), an area is dedicated for something called a “New Trainer Journey”.
Here you only need register into the league through a QR code, like a couple of FB pages so that you can get the latest news from them, hop onto an up to 30 minute demo battle which is overseen by a TCG Tutor and then, after all of that, you get to take home some sweet SWEET… did I mention SWEET?!? Pokemon TCG starter items: A demo decks box (yes that’s decks with an S), a really cool electric yellow playmat, three Paldea starter pokemon stamped promo cards, and a new trainer journey coupon that can be exchanged for a deck box as well as 60 starter sleeves!!! Ain’t that a treat?!?! What are you still reading for? Go there now!
That’s not the only thing you could get out of your trip there mind you, there are areas where you can test out the latest in the non-mainline games on the Switch 2 – Pokemon Legends Z-A. They would direct you to a shop off of the festival grounds if you were interested as the area where they were selling games only had the mainline Pokemon Scarlet / Violet and first gen Switches (at least that’s what we saw while we were there). If you participate in this area, you get a Pikachu cardboard visor as well as a Mega Evolution sticker!
A broad selection of many different Pokemon toys and merchandise up for sale – of particular interest here to us were the PokePla and the available models did not disappoint!
Plenty of photo friendly zones to keep real nice memories of the event!
There’s absolutely no lack of activities and interesting corners over at the Pokemon Holidays at SM so if you’re headed north this weekend, might as well pay a visit and get indoctrinated into the world of Pokemon. Trust me when I say, there’s no better introduction!
